Mamo #30: A Poem About Everything

How about a little Mamo pot pourri? Today we play fast and loose with the categories and just let the conversation ride... which can sometimes be the best way to do it. We visit the Oscars again, the shit-hot career of George Clooney, the less-shit-hot career of Terrence Malick, and have a look at just how much ground will be shaken if Disney really does buy Pixar this week. Check us out, its our thirtieth Mamo!

On the Oscars, I think it's safe to say at this point that Brokeback will win Best Picture. It just won the PGA and the DGA. The only question now is what awards it won't win. In the acting categories I think Michelle has the best shot at Best Supporting Actress. I don't understand what happen to Munich. I didn't love it but I liked it alot. It actually dropped out the the Top 10 this week at 40mil. It won't get a Best Picture nomination but Speilberg will get nominated for Best Director.Brokeback is currently at 50mil and will expand to 2,000 theaters this week just in time for the Oscar nominations. I expect a final gross of 70 to 80 mil maybe more. Which is a sucess considering it only cost 14mil dollars.
