Mamo #44: It's Pus-Wheee-Dun, silly

Oh, dude. You put together one gigantically bad idea for a summer blockbuster, and Bam! look what happens. Who's getting fired for the colossal underwater blunder, Poseidon?

I for one plan on seeing Da Vinci, but I have a major reason of my own. The reason I'll enjoy this movie is the same reason I enjoyed the book, it scores a hit against organized religion. Without soapboxing let me just say that'll I'll support anything that makes people suspicious of the Vatican and suspicious of a book that was written in dead languages, traslated, re-translated, and then edited by the Monarchy at will.

On to a more positve note I need to thank you guys for making me aware of "Firefly". Over the last few weeks I've watched the whole series, and "Serenity" and have fallen in man-love with Joss. The character interaction, the entire concept, even the damn theme song. I love it. I'm going to start working my way through the Buffy back catalogue at the suggestion of friends who have told me that what I like about the character interaction/dialogue is even more robust.

Thanks Mamo!

As a regular listener of MAMO, when Matt's mike cut out during the last episode, I thought you guys were just talking to a waiter/waitress "off camera" and were receiving or possibly ordering some food. :)

As a regular recorder of Mamo, that's what **I** thought was happening when I heard it, until I remembered that we never ordered anything. :)

I liked the book quite a lot (as one can like pulp that makes you wonder), but the movie version of Da Vinci Code plainly sucked. Visually was nice, but I could not believe how boring and tidious it turned out to be.

I got into Buffy during reruns of season 3 on local TV station (that was when Buffy was in her last season run) and later on started to follow Angel as well. I followed Firefly from the start, so Serenity came naturaly to me. :) These are really great things and you'll have lots of fun discovering Joss's older shows.
